These buttery, garlicky, slightly umami noodles are so delicious and (best of all) quick to assemble! The longest part of this recipe is just waiting for the water to boil. These Asian Garlic Noodles noodles pair deliciously well with seafood.
Cook the noodles according to package directions. For my noodles, I boiled 4 quarts of water over high heat. Once boiled, I added in the chow mein noodles and give it a stir. I cooked the noodles for 6 minutes and then strained in a colander.
In a small bowl, mix together oyster sauce, fish sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, and pepper. Set aside.
Put the same pot used for boiling the noodles on low heat. Add the butter. Once melted, add the garlic and the whites of the green onion. Cook for 30 seconds to a minute, being careful not to burn the garlic.
Add in the sauce mixture. Cook for 30 seconds.
Add in the strained chow mein noodles. Turn off heat and toss to combine.
Transfer to a bowl, garnish with tops of green onion. Try not to inhale the noods all at once. Enjoy!
